In 1980, Wenzhou Luyi Shoes Materials Co., Ltd. was established.It is not easy to start one’s own business, and innovation needs courage. Since the first shoe last got off the production line, “the root of development is the innovation mind” is always believed by people of Luyi. They would never be merely content to preserve traditional crafts – they knew that to take the lead, you have to be an innovative and creative pioneer!
In 1988, Luyi became the first one in China that used plastic polyethylene as a substitute for timber to produce shoe last, greatly improves the products’ plasticity, saves the cost, and shortens the development and production cycle.
In 1995, Luyi Craft Shoe Last Factory was renamed as Wenzhou Luyi Shoe Material Co., Ltd.; In 1998, new standard workshop buildings in Ouhai Economic Development Zone were put into use, and the development of Luyi gathered pace. In addition, Luyi formed an energetic and skillful group of competent talents and was able to design and independently produce shoe lasts of various structures. It became one of the most professional shoe last producers in East China.
As a national pioneer, Luyi invested and brought in NEWLAST equipment from Italy in 1999, which was then the first one in East China, becoming a new bellwether of domestic shoe last industry. Importing the new equipment enabled Luyi to realize the leap from an entity model to a digital model.
In 2001, Luyi and China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute jointly established “Luyi Last Shape Design and Research Center” and “Guangzhou Luyi Development Branch”, and consequently the network of business information was expanded. Luyi’s efforts finally paid off. In 2007, as a top and authoritative shoe last manufacturer, Luyi Shoe Material Co., Ltd. participated in the drafting and formulating the national standard of Chinese shoe sizing and last systems (GBT 3293-1982) in 2007, making outstanding contributions to the growth of the industry.
In 2008, Luyi was awarded the honorable title of “Zhejiang High Tech Enterprise”.
In 2016, Luyi invested and bought in NEWLAST’s integral molding NL-SDF series last manufacture equipment and the latest version of 3D design software EASYLAST 3D CAD-CAM. The world’s most advanced high-tech set of shoe last prototype processing together with fully automatic shoe manufacture improved production efficiency significantly. This leads Luyi to the top of this industry again!
In 2017, the launch of Luyi’s new brand of “LUIWIN” has initiated a new era for Luyi’s expansion beyond the border.
